MY OPINION ABOUT K-12

The Philippine Government is trying to fully implement the K-12 Basic Education Program throughout all elementary and high schools in the Philippines. The K-12 Program aims to add two years to the present educational system.

This program is causing debates in our country now, because lots of people especially students and parents are against it. They are against the additional two years because they believe that it is hassle and time and money consuming. In exchange, the DepEd insists that it is necessary because the Philippines' educational system is seriously lagging behind other countries and it is the right time to catch up and improve the Filipino's quality of education.

In my opinion, I think that it is really right for schools to undergo the K-12 program. The Philippines is known for its strong and abundant labor force, with Filipino workers rendering jobs all over the world. But now, some countries and international organizations question the competencies of our people because of or outdated educational system. Also, other students can't keep up or compete with other students from outside the country because of same reason. Some of us are often miss-conceptualized or even discriminated because they think that we are not 'smart' or 'knowledgeable' enough compared to them.

People should think of this program positively, for it adds up to the quality of education that we can offer ourselves and to out future generations. The government should further support and encourage students and parents to participate in this program  and provide more educational assistance to those less-able families that are unable to send their children to school. After all, this is for the good of all the Filipino people, and we have to be welcome of changes that could make us and our country better.

Anino by Up Dharma Down is one of my favorite Filipino songs. For me, it describes a person that is confused of her emotions. She let go of her dear love, but made up her mind and want him back again. She promised herself to hold back her feelings, though her heart betrays her. She returns asking forgiveness for breaking up and hurting her love, realizing she wants him back again.

I translated the lyrics in English myself because I can't find a legit one on the internet. The song is in deep Tagalog, like all other beautiful songs of UDD. It catches my ears, for I can really relate my feelings to it *laughs and cries at the same time*.

BULLIES, BULLIES EVERYWERE

Yo Prof! Yo classmates! Yo world!

Successfully, I am not late passing this time. Hahaha

If you never experienced bullying, then you're probably not a human. You must be a chair or a spoon or a thing that don't posses feelings. 

All of us have our own 'bully story'. It must have happened during our childhood, or in school, or online. Bullying can happen anytime and everywhere, no one of us is safe from it. Perhaps all of  us experienced being teased, played at, and called insulting names.

I ,myself, also experienced this. You know.. Being called, fat, big, too tall, weird, out of place, useless, etc. At first, it hurt me a lot. Of course right? Who would be happy being called by their imperfections. I am just proud of myself that I learned to be strong. Since when I was little, I was not the kind of little girl that will just cry in the corner after being bullied, I always stand up and confront my bullies in the nicest and friendlies way that I can. I accept my flaws easily without being hurt a lot. We all  have flaws, and God made flaws for us to be unique, to be unlike other people. I look at my imperfections as an advantage, not a disadvantage. So what if I'm big, tall, or fat? You are not like me. I am unique. Short people wanna be tall, thin people wanna gain weight. I also have my advantages, like learning how to cook, knowing lots of things and being informative, I can sing and dance a little, I know how to play some sports, and I don't have any physical disabilities. 

God gave us distinct characters and abilities. Those bullies? Duh, don't mind them. But if they really bug you then you can stand for your rights. Fight for yourself! Report them to the right authorities! Don't let them hold you down! Make them your inspiration to succeed! You will surely get through them if you remain strong and positive.

WEEK ONE (07/18/15)

Hi Ma'am Lea! Hi stalker! Hi world!

Sorry I'm late! *cries for grades*... But really, I HAVE REASONS MA'AM! BELIEVE ME! I PROMISE I WILL STATE THEM ALL ON MONDAY! FORGIVE ME, MY BEAUTIFUL PROFESSOR! *cries harder*

So, this is the start of my blog, I know it started late, but at least I made it right? Just like the saying goes, better late than never. :)



Let's start last Saturday during our NSTP class. We had this class activity where our professor places a piece of paper in each of our backs, then we have to write what we think the person's trait is, without him/her knowing who we are. It was confusing at first, but after awhile we got along with it. It was fun writing on their backs knowing that they won't know what I wrote in it. When the professor was sure that most of us were already done, she instructed us to remove the paper placed in our backs. We were all astonished to read what we described of each other. They describe me as being tall, friendly, gwapa (beautiful hahaha), and humble. I was delighted to know what they thought of me, and it made me feel genuinely happy knowing that they all view me in a positive way.

We were all occupied during the weekdays, because of exams, classes etc. Our second periodical exam just ended and I am glad that I passed them, including grammar! Yeey!

There was no class last Friday, so I went to the old cathedral instead. I realized it was a good time to visit the Lord especially that I am happy of my exam results and I needed some clarifications in life that only Him could answer. I may not look like a religious person, but really, I am.



I know that this is just a short summation of how my week was, so I will try to write it longer next time!
